Mega menu won't respond to code changes

Topic summary

A user working with the Symmetry theme is unable to apply CSS changes to their mega menu. They’ve attempted modifications in two locations without success:

  • Direct edits to assets/main.css
  • Custom CSS in the theme editor (header section)

Desired changes:

  • Reduce horizontal spacing between columns
  • Decrease padding within the mega menu container to fit more columns per row
  • Make category text match sub-category styling (same size and color)

Potential issue:
The user suspects their Rapid Search AI app may be overriding the custom CSS, though no app settings appear to affect menu styling.

Current status:
Another participant has offered to help but is awaiting clarification on the specific menu updates needed. The issue remains unresolved.

Hello,

I’m using symmetry theme’s most recent version. I’m trying to reduce the horizontal spacing between columns and the padding within the mega menu container to allow more columns to fit per row. I’d also like to make some font changes, like having the categories be the same size and color as the sub-categories. Using chaptGPT, I was adding some CSS to assets- main.css and nothing would change. I first tried making small css changes in the theme editor in header-> custom css and that didn’t change anything either. Is it possible that my Rapid Search AI app has some code that is over-riding mine? I don’t see any app setting that should impact how the menu looks. Or, am I putting the code in the wrong place? Code attached that I was last trying, though there were many versions of it that I tried. the site is circuitbmx.myshopify.com

@Cara_Circuit what update do you want in your menu?
