Menu not opening on simple theme

Hello,

I use simple theme, pagefly for my homepage and smart menu by qikify for top menu.

While any page is opened, at times the menu fails to load. I thought it was a problem from the app side but they checked and found it might a problem with the theme.

How can I improve this, also while using pagefly, there seems to be some delays in rendering just the first heading also.

Using; https://www.webpagetest.org/, I found the waterfall showed that on homepage, all images are loading together, and it looks like this.

and till the images don’t load, other services don’t start

is that causing the delay?

The website loads, but due to some reason, the website features take too long to load! is it because of my theme, I can try to change it if it will improve performance.

also, even if the page loads, at times going to a collection from page, the website gets stuck

To solve the issue with the loading speed of your store, you can go to Online Store > Themes > Edit code, open theme.liquid file, file and remove those lines of code from your file, save and check

Thanks for the quick reply.

I tried to find the storefront.js and storefront.css in my theme.liquid and theme.pagefly.liquid code, but they do not exist anywhere.

Any place else I can check for this.

I am using simple theme, which might have been removed by shopify now, will changing theme help?

Yes, you can try to use another theme to check.
