Hi,
I’m working with a Shopify store owner who was given bad advice to create a second Merchant Center (MC). Their 1st account was suspended and their new MC is suspended. Both had Misrepresentation issues. When the owner tried to access the 1st Merchant Center, it had been deleted. They created a new MC (this would be the 3rd Merchant Center. If you log into the Merchant Center, you’ll see llistings. The 3rd one has not been connected to a domain yet. Do you suggest they delete the 2nd MC and just start over with the 3rd MC?
Part 2 of this is a about DBA. Should they use
Business name, dba store name for their Merchant Center and Google ads accounts?
Thanks in advance,
Hi @vmi1816
In your situation with multiple Merchant Center accounts, it’s really important to address the root of the suspension issues. Creating new accounts (like the 3rd one) without resolving these issues might just lead to more suspensions.
Not to mention that it’s against Google’s policy to make new accounts to avoid suspensions, and doing so often doesn’t fix the underlying problems.
So, I’d suggest focusing on fixing the issues with your 2nd MC instead of starting over with the 3rd.

Close down the 3rd account and resolve all issues in the 2nd account. However, creating new accounts, is a more serious issue and most likely even if you resolve all technical policies, you may not get approved. So you should resolve all issues, build up trust for about 6 months to a year, then try again with the second account.
With regards to the legal name, that is a question you should ask your accountant, what is legally required. It is not Google’s policies but the laws within your country.

Thanks One Mobile. I have closed the 3rd account and we will continue working on the Misrepresentation issues. It’s possible that the DBA the only open issue. We will learn more next once we ask for a review.
Your prompt reply is greatly appreciated.
EmmanuelFlossie thanks for your insight. It’s hard for this client to build up trust in terms of orders. They aren’t marketing anywhere now. I’m going to recommend they run Bing ads and do SEO. Are you saying they should wait 6 months before they ask for a review? Yes. I’ve closed the 3rd account on their behalf.
All the best,
6 Months referring to, it usually takes a business 6 months or even a year, to build up trust.

@vmi1816 What did you find out about the DBA? Does Google allow them for Merchant Center Accounts?
