hey! i’d love to go for events to meet other entrepreneurs in this community in toronto and vancouver, does anyone have any recommendations?
A few places worth adding to the list:
- Toronto: check MaRS and DMZ event calendars. Both run founder sessions, pitch nights, and practical workshops. Filter for ecommerce or consumer brands.
- Vancouver: Launch Academy and Vancouver Entrepreneurs Forum regularly list founder events. Their smaller sessions are usually better for actual conversations than big conferences.
- Search Luma and Eventbrite today using Shopify, ecommerce, DTC, and retail, plus the city name. Save those searches and turn on weekly alerts.
- Before attending, message 2 or 3 attendees or speakers on LinkedIn and suggest a 15-minute coffee before the event. That has worked better for me than relying on random networking once inside.

Many merchants also enjoy the power of smaller sources such as sub groups on topics such as marketing, operations, and growth strategies where they can dialoge about specific challenges. Watch local event calendars and entrepreneur spaces for events around town.
