I have 2 separate draft products that have reviews.
I have created a new listing for the same product (just different colour)
Is there a way I can merge the 2 draft and new active listing so the reviews show up on the new listing?
Issue: Move reviews from two draft products to a new active product (same item, different color) in a Shopify store.
Context: Review app is Judge.me; theme is Pipeline. Goal is to merge/transfer reviews so they appear on the new listing.
Guidance provided: Process depends on the specific review app/theme. General method is to export reviews from old products and import them to the new product, often by editing a CSV (e.g., mapping to the correct product IDs/names). Reviews may be stored as metafields (custom fields). For recurring needs, consider automation via Shopify Flow or UseMechanic.
Reported obstacles: Import returned an error that reviews already exist in Shopify. Imported Etsy reviews landed in âstore reviewsâ rather than âproduct reviews.â Question raised about whether this mapping can be edited.
Clarification: Likely fixable by adjusting the data fields (e.g., product identifiers) in the export before re-import, but specifics vary by system.
Outcome & status: Original poster resolved the issue independently; no steps shared. Recommendation to post and mark the solution for future reference. Discussion effectively closed without documented resolution.

Hi @VanessaLL1
Refer to the relevant export/import documentation for the review system being used.
This will vary drastically be theme and or app being used to collect and show reviews.
At itâs most general export the reviews for old products and import them onto new products; sometimes needing to edit the export data in excel/google-sheets if itâs provided in CSV format.
The review data may exists on products as metafields and that is what needs to be exported.
If this is ongoing the process should be automated either trying with shopify-flow to replicate metafields, or more advanced with usemechanic for metafield OR CSV workflows for suitable apis.

I have exported and imported them but it said ERROR because the reviews are already in shopify.
I also done this with ETSY reviews however they went to âstore reviewsâ instead of product reviews. is this something I can edit
?
Probably , no idea every system is different, the effort has to be put in and look at the actual data and adjust it accordingly like itâs probably using product names or ids or something.
Its okay I worked it out Thank you
