Meta Business combined Instagram and Facebook stores along with Shopify checkout page

Topic summary

A merchant noticed their Shopify payout was lower than expected due to additional Meta Business fees being charged on top of Shopify’s standard transaction fees. They questioned whether Instagram sales incur more than 4% in fees from Meta and asked if it’s possible to separate checkout fees between Shopify and Meta to avoid double charges.

A community moderator clarified that currently there are no Meta-related fees on transactions processed through Shopify Payments or PayPal at checkout. They directed the merchant to Meta Business Help Center resources for detailed information about fees when using checkout on Facebook and Instagram.

Status: The discussion appears to address a fee structure misunderstanding, with guidance provided but no concrete resolution about separating or reducing combined platform fees.

Hi everyone,

I received an order from Shopify and I noticed that the payout from Shopify is lower than the Shopify payout showed on my Shopify store. I realized that I have been charged on top of Shopify fees, Meta Business (Instagram and Facebook stores combines). My question is : Can I separate the checkout fees from Shopify and Meta business to avoid being charged from both fees? I consider that Metabusiness is charging more than 4% when someone buys an pay from Instagram. I would appreciate your comments and tips on what best to do in terms of our onlines sales.

Cheers,

Ina

Hi there, @Andreina2 .

Thanks for posting your question to the Shopify Community.

At the moment, there are no Meta-related fees on a transaction processed through Shopify Payments or PayPal on Checkout on Facebook & Instagram. You can learn more about fees for sales using checkout on Facebook and Instagram here: About fees for sales | Meta Business Help Center.
