Meta Search Platform: Remove Product Pages

Hi all,

I am building a metasearch product comparison platform. I work together with different web shops through affiliates and aggregate their offerings into my own shop so that users can filter all websites at once. When a customer clicks on a product, I want to redirect the customer to the web shops page. My previous CMS solution has worked well, but I am starting to hit limitations in terms of the number of bikes I can put into my CMS system.

I am considering using Shopify for this. The question is:

As I said above, I don’t need product pages. When a user searches for items and clicks on one of them, then I want to redirect the user to a shop so that the user can buy the item from there. Is it possible to customise Shopify to not have product pages but just redirect customers when they click on a product on the product listings page? If yes, how is this possible?

Thanks a lot for your help!
Olly

One way to achieve this is to create a custom template for the product listings page that includes a link to the original web shop for each product. This template can be designed to match the look and feel of your metasearch platform.

You can also use Shopify’s API to retrieve the product information from the original web shop and display it on your product listings page. This way, you can ensure that the product information is always up-to-date and accurate.
