I created a multi-line text metafiled under the Blog Post section. When I go to the theme template for Blog Posts and click on choose dynamic source on my collapsible row, it only gives me the options to link to Branding. Can someone direct me to fix the issue?
I’m using the Ride theme and I was hoping to use metafields and blog posts to add recipes. The idea is to use collapsible rows to show ingredients and recipes.
I was able to use the same set-up to use multi-line metafields in the product page, but the metafields option doesn’t even show up when I’m in the blog post theme customizer.
Can you tell me how to change the schema, so I can try that?
I spoke with Shopify and they said that it’s not supported. They said they’ll speak with the developers but it seems like it’ll stay that way until the developers adjust the code.
Thanks for getting back to me! That’s disappointing to hear. It seems like a lot of people are having the same issue that we’re encountering. Hope the Shopify team fixes this soon for us.
Any news on this? I just ran into the same issue and would love to display article-specific images in a custom format on my blog posts, but can’t pick the correct source for said image due to the missing option to select the otherwise functioning metafield (or rather, the dynamic source it belongs to).
I haven’t checked on this recently, but my understanding is that until Shopify is able to modify their coding, we are unable to use metafields on blog pages/posts.
Thank you @lunaworks meta fields only worked for product pages when I was playing around with it a few months ago. It looks like it has now been updates for other pages to allow meta fields!
@lunaworks@Shumpei while a category for blog post meta fields exists, they are sadly still not available as dynamic source on the actual blog post page, which is a shame.
