Our website currently uses tags for product categorization and filtering. Now, we are planning to replace tags with meta objects for product categorization and filtering. However, there is an issue we can’t resolve:
For example, when I use tags, I can add a “Strapless” tag to a product, and customers can search for “Strapless” on the front end, with the search results including products with the “Strapless” tag.
But when I stop using tags and switch to meta objects, the front end cannot display products with “Strapless” entries when searching for “Strapless.”
Is there a solution to this issue?
Hi @Elvin_s
In the one-line text there is an option ‘Filter in product index’.
Thank you, but the result is still the same.
Can you please clarify which product information is being searched on the frontend? For example, product information includes the title, description, variants, SKU, tags, etc.
Based on my testing, the title and tags are being searched. For instance, when I search for ‘women,’ products with ‘women’ in the title or tags appear in the search results.
However, meta fields and meta objects are not searchable. Is there something I’m doing wrong? I followed the method you mentioned and enabled the setting, but it still doesn’t work.
Also, could you tell me which other product information can be searched by customers on the frontend( title, description, variants, SKU, tags, etc.)?
