We have been using recurpay for recurring payments but are now considering switching to another provider. How do we take the existing credit card information for memberships and seamlessly transfer it to another platform? How do we get access to these credit card tokens? Can they be exported? recurpay uses shopify to store credit card info.
Hi @rnunbound ,
Recurpay is a Shopify native platform - meaning that the tokens are stored directly within Shopify themselves. So you don’t need to actually mirgate any token information when switching app providers.
I used to be a part of Loop Subscriptions earlier and built the internal migration tooling for them. This is a very straight forward process and you can reach out to any provider of your choosing and they should be able to help you out.
Here’s a help article that I authored a while back, should give you a solid starting point
https://learn.loopwork.co/en/article/migrate-to-loop-14xoc4v/
There’s also an article by Shopify more oriented towards developers that covers this extensively
If you are transitioning out of Shopify, then it’s a different story altogether. They don’t allow you to export tokens out of Shopify directly - you will need to reach out to support for this.
