My store has Zettle Epos and Big Commerce website (that i shut down some tine ago because it doesn’t work well with Zettle and I kept selling products that were no longer in stock). I am moving all to Shopify. I am trying to import my products into Shopify and I cannot get the stock levels on despite them being on the .csv file. I am now thinking that I should be importing from Big Commerce and not Zettle - is this where I am going wrong? It is driving me crazy! Thanks
Topic summary
Main issue: Migrating products from Zettle EPOS/BigCommerce to Shopify, but inventory quantities aren’t appearing in Shopify even though they exist in the CSV.
Context: The BigCommerce site was previously shut down due to poor syncing with Zettle, which caused overselling. EPOS = electronic point of sale; CSV = comma‑separated values file.
Advice shared:
- Export from BigCommerce instead of Zettle because BigCommerce exports include stock fields. Then adjust the CSV headers to match Shopify’s required import format before uploading.
- Conflicting note: Another reply claims Shopify doesn’t currently support direct CSV imports and recommends using a paid migration service to move inventory and orders.
Key points/considerations:
- If using CSV: ensure column headers conform to Shopify’s product/inventory import schema; otherwise the stock levels won’t map.
- If CSV fails or is not supported as claimed, consider a migration service for a managed transfer.
Status: No confirmed resolution. Action items are to try a BigCommerce export with Shopify-formatted headers or pursue a migration service. The question remains open.
Hi @BadgerKOL Welcome to the Community!
Yes you should try to export from bigcommerce as in bigcommerce there is a option for stock and whenever you export the list of products they will export the stock number as well, in that way it will be easier for you.
Please note the same csv will not be imported to shopify as you need to change the headers of the csv file in order to import the same csv.
Hopefully it will help you. If yes then Please don’t forget hit Like and Mark it as solution!
