Migration from Bigcommerce

Just curious if any of you migrated from BigCommerce. If so, how long did it take for your numbers to get back and exceed where you were on BC? I migrated 2 weeks ago.

Hi @MSOVP ,

First of all welcome to the Shopify Community,

After migration from BigCommerce. It takes approximately 2 to 3 months to stable your numbers like before because both CMS have different algorithms of each activity. So take a deep breath and wait for it. If you still need any help regarding your migration you can reach out me.

Thanks

@MSOVP yup that’s what I am exactly talking about.

Migrating from BigCommerce can vary in terms of how long it takes for numbers to get back on track and exceed previous performance. Many store owners report seeing a quicker recovery when migrating to Shopify, especially with the help of tools like Cart2Cart, which streamline the migration of product data, customer information, and order history. The recovery period depends on your marketing efforts, website optimization, and SEO settings post-migration. If you’re seeing slow progress, optimizing your store’s performance and ensuring a smooth transition with Cart2Cart might speed things up.

My developer did not use cart2cart because we had so much old junk code in there from our last migration. We wanted to start with a a fresh start. SEO looks good in core vitals at 100%. Does cart2cart do any seo after the fact?

@MSOVP cart2cart is only used for migration not for ongoing seo performance.
