min quantity across all customer orders for order to be completed

Hi,

We are looking at offering special pricing for an item only if the min total number of orders across all customers is hit. I have found software for pre-orders that allows sales up to a certain number of units but I need the opposite.

We can take as many orders that come in but we will not be processing the orders if there are too few. I also want to display a bar of number that has been ordered and how far away we are from hit the minimum.

Best example I can give is:

We need to sell a total of 30 units across all our customer orders to approve the sale. If we do not get 30 orders we do not charge them and the “orders” get canceled. We can sell an unlimited amount. Customers ordering see how many are ordered/needed for the sale to go through.

Is this possible through liquid code or an application?

I think you can use the Shopify Flow app to modify the tag products when they are in an order. You can modify a counter tag that increments whenever there is an order that includes it; and pull this tag to display on the product page.
