Missing Gtin Value - Custom Product Not an Option

Hey all, just wanted to see if anyone else has been in this situation.

A few weeks ago, our Google Merchant center flagged that we have multiple products from our store that needed attention due to them having a missing GTin value. All the item in our store are made custom and we don’t have a GTin for any of them. Only 57 of 3403 items were flagged. When I tried to switch them over to a custom product, google wouldn’t let me, tell me not a custom product. A google rep told me we needed to contact shopify and have them reload our inventory into the Google channel and I opened a ticket, but Shopify never got back to me.

Now our Google Merchant account has been suspended for misrepresentation. Google is currently working on a manual review. Just wanted to see if anyone else is having issues.

To ensure you submit correct data for custom products, you can follow the guide here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyvilyMb2Bo

With regards to your suspension, you can follow the info here: https://community.shopify.com/c/Ecommerce-Marketing/Checklist-Suspended-Google-Merchant-Center-Account-Fix-amp/m-p/1086444/highlight/true#M39128

Thank you at @EmmanuelFlossie , we just got the email this morning that the manual review failed and google was unwilling to share why or give recommendations on how to fix it. So frustrating.

I’m going to go through your list and see what we need to add or change. I think the gtin value is what tripped it, so hopefully I can change all the custom products.

@EmmanuelFlossie , can I trouble you to pop over to our site and see if there is anything obvious that pops out to you for misrepresentation? Our website is https://doorhousehfx.com/ if you don’t that’s fine, I will work away at our product list..

It’s possible that the other business at the same exact address is causing issues. For example: https://motherhubbardskitchens.com/

Google may see this as 1 address = 2 businesses which generally I don’t think Google accepts.

Ohhh Mother Hubbard’s is our sister company and we share the same address. Shoot.

@EmmanuelFlossie how did you figure that out? Sorry just so I can tell my higher ups

I don’t remember, but I think simply looking at the address.
