Mix and match bundle with live price update and hidden individual products

Hi there,

I’m trying to set up a product page where customers can build their own 6-bottle drink case by selecting from a list of available drinks. Each drink has a different price, and I want the total bundle price to update live as they make their selections.

However, I do not want the individual drinks to be available for purchase on their own or visible on my storefront.

I have tried using the Bundly app. It works well for building the bundle, but it requires each product to be published to the Online Store in order to display properly in the bundle. I want to avoid that, as I don’t want the individual products searchable or purchasable outside of the bundle. I’ve also looked into Bundler and Simple Bundles as well but didn’t seem to configure exactly what I wanted either..

What I’m looking for is an app or method that allows me to:

Create a 6-drink bundle,

Show the live price update as selections are made,

Keep the individual drinks hidden from the storefront and prevent them from being bought separately.

Is there an app that supports this setup, or is there a reliable workaround?

Appreciate any help or advice from those who’ve done something similar.

See the second section on the homepage or look for bundled discounted product. I have created a very close feature to what your requirements are but there’s just one limitation and that’s live price update.

So what I have done is create a product with a set price as you would normally do and then custom coded this using shopify’s line item properties to let user add products as a bundle.

With the BOGOS app, you can easily set up a 6-bottle bundle with live price updates.

About your request to hide the individual drinks from the storefront, this isn’t technically possible because if products need to be published to be available for purchase.

However, we do have an alternative solution that still meets your needs.

We can help you:

  • Hide the Add to Cart button on each individual product page of the 6 bottles.
  • Disable direct links to each product page so customers can’t access or purchase the items separately.

This way, the products will only be available as part of the bundle.

To ensure customers select exactly 6 products (with the option to choose the same product more than once), you can simply use the “Allow Quantity Selector for option value” like this:

If you don’t want to allow repeat selections, just set both the minimum and maximum to 6 in the basic settings:

To hide the individual products from your storefront, please follow these steps:

  1. Assign a specific product tag or type to the original products.

  2. In the collections where those products are included, set the condition “Product type is not equal to [that tag/type]”.

  3. Apply the same condition in the All Products collection.

@atnwlb18 hello there, sorry I’m seeing this a bit late. You mentioned that you did actually try using the Bundler app which is the one in my profile which gladdens me, but unfortunately it didn’t fit into what exactly you needed according to you. Would you mind sharing what exactly was missing and if you’ve been able to find that in another app?
