Modify the code to alter the background colour

Hello,
Yesterday, I was able to modify the code to alter the background colour of a product. I can no longer modify the colour scheme in the usual way. The theme I’m using is Brooklyn. I’m not sure which file I changed to change the backdrop colour from dark to red. Only the homepage is affected by this. Anyone who knows what to edit can modify the theme’s colour scheme once more from the theme settings.
Looking for a good response

Hello,

Can you share your website link? Have you modified any css/scss source file?

Hi @johnrose09 ,

Typically, you can alter the background color directly in your theme editor. If this feature is not working, the theme may not be up-to-date and I would advise downloading a fresh copy of Brooklyn to work with.

If it’s the most recent version of Brooklyn, you may want to revert to a previous copy of the theme to see if this resolves the issue and allows you to continue to modify background color through the theme editor. Working in the code is always a risk, so it’s best to avoid this altogether if you can.

To revert, head to Online Store > Themes > Actions > Edit code and select the theme liquid. Here you can click on older versions and revert back to previous backed-up copies of your theme that are created and time-stamped based on when you made changes to the code.

If a solution can’t be reached with the recommendations above, please contact our Help Center to open a support ticket and our theme developers can investigate this for you.

Hope that helps!

If you want to edit or modify the theme color scheme of a product from the theme settings in Shopify follow the below steps

  1. Step 1: Go to Settings. Access your Shopify admin first, then go to the Settings which is placed at the bottom left corner of the page.
  2. Step 2: Click on Customize checkout. In the Style area, click on the Customize checkout button to go to the theme editor.
  3. Step 3: Add the background image or color.
  4. Step 4: Save the changes.

Brooklyn features include an edge-to-edge home page slideshow, If the problem persists despite your attempts to use the theme editor to change the background color, you might try to roll back to an earlier version of the theme. It is always risky to work in the code, so if at all possible, stay away from it. Otherwise, get https://paperswriting.services/ help in order to solve your further Brooklyn issues
