Mr Parker theme: add language selector to menu navigation

Hello.

I would like to understand how to add a language selector on my menu-navigation section on the mobile view.

In the desktop view, the language selector appears in the header but not in the mobile view. Failing to add this in the header of the mobile view, I would like to the language selector in the menu, like so :

Can someone help me with the liquid code to input?

thanks.

Hi @SarahPh

Can you please provide your store URL and password as well if applicable, so that I can provide you solution that can work for your store.

Best regards

Sahil

Hi @SarahPh , that would be a question for your theme developer - Translate & Adapt doesn’t have its own selectors, it uses the theme’s.

Hi Sahil,

Appreciate your reply but I am not comfortable sharing the URL and password in this open forum. I will find another way thank you.

Best regards,

Sarah

Thank you Rich, I have now contacted the theme developer and we are working out a way to modify the javascript.

Have a good day.

Best regards,

Sarah

@SarahPh if you don’t get anywhere with your theme developers, three options:

  1. You could use one of the free Shopify themes, which have selectors built in. Though I appreciate rebuilding your theme for the sake of a selector may feel like too much of a job.

  2. Hire a developer to add / edit the selectors, e.g. a Shopify Partner, Upwork, Hey Carson etc. This is the developer doc.

  3. Use a 3P app like Selector

Hope that helps

That’s great, this doc might help: https://shopify.dev/docs/themes/markets/multiple-currencies-languages#implementing-country-and-language-selectors
