Hi,
We’ve setup 3 markets (countries) each with a different quantity of a handful of products. Now, buying from one market decreases the stock of that location (and market). That’s fine.
Issue: but when one market sells out, then this is not shown on the product in that market, nor is the ‘add to cart’ button in that market deactivated. This leads to customers ordering a product that is already sold-out in one market, because it is available in another market. Am I missing something? What is the idea of locations and separate stock inventory if customers can continue to order even when sold out in one location, but still available in another location? Any solution anyone?
It sounds like you’re facing an issue with inventory syncing across multiple markets, leading to overselling in locations where the product is already out of stock. While Shopify’s location-based inventory management can be useful, it sometimes requires additional tools to handle multi-market complexities effectively.
One potential solution you could explore is Amazon MCF by WebBee. This app helps automate inventory management across multiple sales channels and markets. It can:
-
Sync Inventory in Real-Time: Keep your inventory updated across different markets and ensure out-of-stock products are accurately reflected, preventing overselling.
-
Centralized Control: Manage stock across multiple locations seamlessly, ensuring each market reflects the correct availability.
-
Dynamic Order Routing: Automatically route orders to the nearest or most appropriate fulfillment center, optimizing delivery times and inventory utilization.
This can be especially helpful if you also sell on Amazon or other marketplaces, as it centralizes and synchronizes inventory across all platforms.
