Hi,
I am also having this issue and was wondering if there is away to solve this issues or a work around?
Merchants using multiple currencies via Shopify Payments report they cannot edit orders placed in a non-default currency (e.g., CAD vs USD). This blocked routine changes like variant swaps and add-ons, disrupting inventory, fulfillment, and accounting, especially for Canadian stores selling to the U.S.
Key limitations reported:
Operational impact: tedious manual inventory adjustments, risk of overselling, slower processing, potential lost revenue from exchange/refund fees, and inability to discount in the shopper’s currency (e.g., setting USD discounts from a CAD store).
Documentation concerns: merchants said the multi-currency “limitations” page didn’t clearly state the edit restriction; only a brief note existed under “Editing Orders.”
Latest update: a Shopify Support post and updated documentation indicate a patch has been deployed to allow editing multi-currency orders. Participants plan to test; scope and edge cases are not yet confirmed.
Status: potentially resolved with the new patch, but verification from merchants is still pending.
