My Header and Footer are both Combined in a sidebar. How can I prevent this?

I made the tips in this link to prevent having a sidebar: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/themes/themes-by-shopify/vintage-themes/brooklyn/tips-brooklyn#navigation-tips

Though it did not work, because the issue, is that the footer items are also added/combined in the sidebar (Kindly see the attached picture, all the footer items start from the log-in item)

May any community member help me?
