I have sent a few emails to Shopify, which, unfortunately I have not received any concrete replies.
I opened an etsy shop and purchased the domain grip-locks.com, the site was crawled by google and if a person searched for example “the best motorcycle lock” our lock would appear.
Recently the domain lockcuff.com became available (which is the name of our motorcycle lock) so we purchased the domain.
We added the sitempap.
We added the alt text.
Now the site is not being crawled, the images are not appearing on Google, henceforth we are getting zero traffic.
Google merchant center says “not approved”. We do not want to pay Google, we simply want our products to appear on Google Search. Again, when we had the site grip-locks.com all of our images appeared, without paying for good adverstising.
Also, I noticed your store’s collection page where you have listed your products is messed up. This will give a negative impact on the visitors to your store.
While you mentioned that you don’t want to pay for advertising, you can focus on getting organic sales and traffic from Google directly and opt for the Free product listings program.
There could be several reasons why your Google Merchant Center account is not approved including Policy violations, technical issues, account setup issues, and others.
To determine the specific reason why your account is not approved, you can log into your Google Merchant Center account and review the disapproval notice. This should provide more details about the issue and what steps you need to take to resolve it.
I have already sought assistance as to why the data is showing up and not the images, I have received basically no assistance from shopify.
As for your suggestion to go to google merchant, that is also what shopify has suggested. I have done that ages ago and have corrected everything.
So now my only option is basically to delete my shopify store and start again. I find it disturbing that shopify cannot assist.
To recap I have already changed the domain, I have corrected the issues in google merchant and my pictures are not showing up where they should in Google Search.
