My INP P75 was stable and ‘good’ but two days ago it shot up to a 350% and now 415% increase bringing it into the ‘moderate’ zone. I cannot figure out what is effecting this. I am using Ritual theme.
Generally Horizon family of themes are fast themes.
You need to check what happened at this time.
Any new apps installed? Change in settings?
Reports can give your more info on whether it’s mobile or desktop problem, is it on every page or only some pages are affected.
Knowing that, you can try to find your reason.
Something like that:
Or even this – “What interaction target produced the most delayed interaction”:
I dont know how to interpret any of this data and I dont see how you got to that second part either. This is what it shows me and nothing happens when I click on the data.
Hey @ABdev1
First thing to check is whether you installed or updated any apps in the past few days. New apps are the most common culprit for sudden performance drops because they add JavaScript that runs when people interact with your site. Even something that seems harmless like a new reviews app, popup, or chat widget can tank your INP if it’s poorly coded. Go through your app list and see if anything was added or updated right before this started.
Also check if you updated your Ritual theme itself. Theme updates sometimes introduce new features or code that impacts performance. If you updated it recently, you could try reverting to the previous version to see if that fixes it. Make sure you have a backup first though.
Look at any custom code you might have added - things like tracking pixels, third-party scripts, or custom functionality. If someone added new code to your theme files in the past couple days, that could be it. Check your theme’s edit history if multiple people have access.
Check the “Dimensions” on the right – I’ve kept 'em in the screenshot for a reason.
Your screenshot confirms that something happened.
And https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-autobongs-com/fw77vvwp69 confirms.
Did you add those homepage videos at that time?
As videos are heavy (both in terms of bandwidth and CPU resources to play them) and you have 4 playing at the same time.
These would be my first candidates – other pages seem responsive, just the homepage is sluggish at first, but after several seconds it’s fast too.
If confirmed that these are videos, I’d recommend trying to scale them down to be two times smaller – should not be really noticeable given their fuzzy subject.
