Dear Shopify Support Team,
I am writing to report an issue with the manual sorting of products in my Shopify store. Although I have successfully arranged the products manually in the Admin Panel (by dragging and dropping the products in the desired order), the store front is not displaying the products in the correct order. Some of the products are appearing out of sequence despite the manual sorting being set.
I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:
- Verified that “Manual Sorting” is selected in the collection settings.
- Cleared my browser cache and tried accessing the store in Incognito mode.
- Checked if the issue persists across different browsers.
Unfortunately, none of these steps have resolved the problem.
Could you please assist me in identifying the cause of this issue and provide guidance on how to resolve it? I would appreciate your prompt assistance with this matter.
Thank you in advance for your support.
You arranged products in a certain order (by dragging them), but on your live website, they still appear in a different order.
Here’s what might be happening — and how to fix it:
1. Double-check the collection setting
-
Go to Products → Collections in your Shopify admin.
-
Open the collection you’re working on.
-
Make sure the Sort order is set to Manual.
-
If not, change it to Manual and click Save.
This tells Shopify to use the order you set.
2. Your website design (theme) might not be following the order
Sometimes, the design (called “theme”) used on the website may not follow the manual order properly.
What to do:
You may need a Shopify Partner to adjust your website’s settings to make sure it shows the products exactly how you’ve arranged them.
Thank you!
Manual sorting set in Shopify Admin isn’t reflecting on the storefront. You’ve tried all basic fixes. Likely causes: custom theme code or an app overriding the sort. Check collection.liquid for sort_by or theme logic.
