Issue: In the Sense theme, the search bar text overlaps/appears transparent when using the Buddha Apps “Mega Menu” plugin.
Context: Sense’s default behavior expands the search bar to cover the navigation area. The third‑party megamenu likely interferes by rendering underneath, causing the overlap.
Suggestion: Use Shopify’s built‑in mega menu (Customize Theme → Header → Desktop menu type → Mega menu). Screenshots were shared to illustrate the default behavior and where to enable the native mega menu.
Outcome: The original poster switched to the built‑in mega menu, which removed the overlap. Problem solved.
I think that’s partially how the Sense theme works. If you use a freshly installed theme without any apps, you’ll see that the search bar expands and covers the navigation menu.
I don’t know for sure, but my guess is that the megamenu app is interfering with Sense’s default behavior and is showing up from underneath when it wasn’t designed to.
Is there any reason you’re not using the built-in megamenu that Shopify already has? Customize Theme → Header → Desktop menu type → Mega menu
