My Mobile menu button is not working, Can someone look at it and what could be the problem.
Hey there, @izainashfaq . Thanks so much for reaching out to the Shopify Community with your mobile menu situation! The Community is a great place to come by anytime you have any questions about something related to your Shopify Store!
I have a few questions I’d like to ask you before I dive in:
- What theme are you using in your store?
- When did you first notice that this was happening? How were you made aware?
- What type of mobile device are you using to test this button?
Using your URL, I loaded up your website on my mobile device. I’m happy to say that when I was on your site, your hamburger menu worked fine for me with no issues. I tested this a few times and can confirm that it worked with each test.
Based on my testing, this is likely a local issue, and not something impacting your customers or new visitors to your mobile site. I have a few steps you can complete to test this:
- If you have a different mobile device, use that to access your site and try the button. If it works, we know the issue is isolated to the browser on the originally used device.
- On the original device, try using an incognito/private viewing browser to view your website. Once there, test the hamburger menu. If it works, then we know the issue is isolated to your device’s browser.
In those examples, if the burger works in any case, we can feel confident that the issue is cookies related. You will want to clear your cache/cookies of the mobile browser you’re using, and this will resolve your issue. Additionally, you could just wait and allow the cookies to update on their own, as the menu will begin working for your device once some time has passed. You can also just wipe out the cookies specifically for your store, as well, instead of clearing all of your cookies/cache info for your browser. This will help ensure that you don’t have to re-enter any saved passwords on sites your frequent.
Give the above steps a try, and follow up with me here to let me know how things go!
This is a free theme Dawn, it was customized I have 2 stores so i download the theme and uploaded it to this store, mobile menu pop up perfectly but when i click on any menu button or item nothing happens. Js link is empty also could you please take a look ?
please look at this screenshot.
Hi again, @izainashfaq ! Thanks for following up with me!
I appreciate the clarification you provided with the button. I tested the links within the menu on my mobile device and was able to replicate your issue. I’m going to advise on some next steps for you to consider below.
Quickly, however - Does your other store that uses this same theme also have this issue? Or is it just this store? If the theme was copied from one store to another with no edits or customizations made, then we’d think the issue would be happening in both stores, or not at all. If it’s only happening in this one store, then that suggests that a recent customization or app installation has caused your menu links to not redirect as required.
To set some expectations, Shopify Staff have a limited scope of support when it comes to coding. We’re unable to advise on making coding changes to your theme, just because we don’t want to suggest something, and have everything break.
Based on the information shared here, I have three ideas for how you can get support for this:
-
Shopify Support - Since you’re using Dawn, a Shopify-made theme, we may be able to assist you directly with this broken menu. You mentioned that the theme has been customized, so our support scope may be limited because of this, but it never hurts to ask our team to take a look. You can reach out to them using this link here. I recommend doing this first before checking out the other options.
-
Third Party Dev - If customizations have been made to your theme that resulted in something breaking, the person best equipped to fix this may be the person who made the change originally. If you had someone customize this theme for you, and that seemed to breaks things, I recommend reaching back out to this person to see if they’d be willing to investigate the error themselves.
-
Shopify Experts - As a third option, Shopify Experts should be able to help resolve this issue for you. Sometimes they visit these forums and provide assistance, and other times it’s best to reach out to them directly for help. This is usually a paid route to have things looked into. If you’re interested in this, I recommend using this Experts Link to post your job and see who would be willing to lend a hand.
I strongly suggest following along with the steps I mentioned above. Please reach out to our Team first, as this is a free method of having this looked into.
Additionally, I spent some time checking out your website, and it looks fantastic. I LOVE all of the customer reviews you have at the bottom of your page! I do have a recommendation - you should consider building an ‘About Us’ page for your store! Since you’re selling such a fun product, it would be great to tell customers why you wanted to start this business, and what sort of fun things you get up to with this product! This is a great way to build trust with your customer base, and helps with conversion and retaining customers. Here’s a few examples to help you get started: https://bit.ly/3yYxSDL.
