Issue: After deleting an old third‑party domain (shopthings.online) and buying a new Shopify domain (buytop100.online), the new domain appeared to point to the old one and showed a DNS error (DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN, meaning the domain couldn’t be resolved).
Details provided: No errors shown in Shopify’s Domains admin. New domain: buytop100.online (Shopify). Old domain: shopthings.online (third‑party).
Latest check: A Shopify staff member could access buytop100.online and reach the site, but noted the URL forwards to the store’s myshopify subdomain (7cd03b-b5.myshopify.com) instead of staying on the custom domain.
Guidance given: Contact Shopify live support via the Help Center for account‑specific investigation, as this forwarding behavior shouldn’t occur and can’t be resolved in the public forum.
Status: Unresolved/ongoing. Key questions remain about why the custom domain doesn’t stay persistent and prior DNS/NXDOMAIN behavior. Screenshot was shared by staff to show current access behavior (not essential to understand the issue).
I had an old 3-party domain, and several people tryed to get it to work without any luck (probably me that did a lot of stupid errors) 
I deleted the domain, and bought a new domain thru Shopify. Everything seems to work but the new domain, for some reason, points to the old domain. If I type the new domain in a browser then I get the old URL shown with a No Connection Possible (DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN).
Are there somebody out there that know what is happening?
