I created a store on Shopify and set up Google Ads and Google Merchant Center for it. After operating the store normally for four months, I received an email from the Shopify Merchant Trust Team shortly after using Shopify Payments, informing me that my store had been suspended due to a violation of their Acceptable Use Policy. Subsequently, my store vanished from the internet.
I attempted to contact the review team, but unfortunately, after submitting an appeal using Shopify’s form, I haven’t received any response for over a week. I am using my own brand, and my products do not infringe on any copyrights or violate any laws. Shopify has suspended my store with a very vague reason. As a result, I have already lost tens of thousands of dollars, and my losses continue to mount. All of my accounts associated with the store are being affected.
As a customer, I believe I have the right to know the specific reasons for the suspension, rather than being dismissed with a general claim of violating the Acceptable Use Policy.
I have tried to contact Shopify’s support team, but the online customer service representatives informed me that they do not have the authority to handle this matter. In reality, I cannot get in touch with the Shopify Merchant Trust Team. Therefore, all my efforts and investments over the past few months have been in vain.
How can I contact them? Can someone please help me?
Hi,
This is Richard at PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app.
I understand your frustration and the significant impact this suspension has had on your business. While I can’t provide specific legal advice, I can offer some general guidance:
1. Persistent Communication:
- Continue Appealing: Keep submitting appeals through Shopify’s official channels, providing as much detail as possible about your business and the products you sell. Clearly articulate why you believe the suspension was unjustified.
- Escalate the Issue: If you haven’t already, try escalating the issue to a higher-level support representative or a specific department within Shopify.
- Utilize Social Media: Reach out to Shopify on social media platforms like Twitter or Facebook. While not guaranteed, public pressure can sometimes expedite responses.
2. Seek Legal Counsel:
- Consult an Attorney: Consider consulting with an attorney specializing in e-commerce and intellectual property law. They can provide tailored advice and potentially help you navigate the legal process.
- Understand Your Rights: An attorney can help you understand your rights as a Shopify merchant and identify any potential legal remedies.
3. Document Everything:
- Keep Records: Maintain detailed records of all communications with Shopify, including emails, chat logs, and any other relevant documentation.
- Gather Evidence: Collect any evidence that supports your claim of innocence, such as product sourcing information, supplier contracts, and customer reviews.
Hoping my solution helps you solve your problem.
Best regards,
