My store was deactivated

My store was deactivated and shows a Reactivate Plan button.

However, Shopify continues attempting to collect invoice #534234237 for $493.92 CAD. The store is being closed and I do not intend to reactivate it.

Has anyone successfully resolved a similar annual-plan billing issue after deactivation?

Wow, nearly $500 CAD is not a small amount to have hanging over a store you’re trying to close. Have you received any written explanation from Shopify on why the charge is still active after deactivation?

I’d be curious to hear how this gets resolved, because I think a lot of merchants assume deactivating a store automatically stops all future billing.

Hello there @Klights
If the site were on a yearly subscription, deactivation does not immediately reverse charges that may have been already invoiced prior to shutdown. Review your billing history and plan information to determine if the invoice is for a prior billing period.

When you no longer need the store, do not reactivate it and ensure that you don’t have any active apps or third party services still conected. Vendors in similar circumstances have reported that it can be helpful to refer back to the original subscription terms and billing dates so you know precisely what the invoice is for before you go any further.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I chatted with the support supervisor and he helped me resolve the issue.
