I’m setting up my Shopify store with the impact theme.
I already defined products and now I wanted to use the Native Color Swatch to define colors and variants for the products. However, the Color Swatch isn’t working on the Product Pages.
Here is what I did so far:
I am using a trial of the Impact Theme
I defined a Metafield with the name Color and linked the meta object color to it
I defined the Meta object definition “Color”, and created the fields color.name, color.hexcode and color.image
Under Content —> Meta objects, I defined color values and the color hex codes for each color
I went to a product and linked the “Color” Metafield to it and choosed the color I wanted for the product
My goal was to see the variants and the color swatches on the product page, but however, I just see what you can see in the screenshot → a blank outlined square without any color.
In the theme settings, Shopify says: “Native color swatch should be used instead. Learn more. Configuration based color swatches is deprecated and will be removed in the future.” But I am already doing this, or don’t I?
I don’t know where my error is.
Can you help me set up the color swatches so they appear on the product pages?
I am having the same issue, to me it seems that the Impact theme is still using the config method which has now been deprecated as it is still mentioned in their documentation on their website (https://support.maestrooo.com/article/80-product-uploading-custom-color-for-color-swatch),,) but would require a full rebuild of the swatch system to get it to work with the new method of using metaobjects (I don’t see the point of adding the config for every variant on the site to change the method again in the future). The variants I have on my store use the names of the products as the option values instead of hex codes or css recognised colour names. Which means that the swatches on the product page show up empty as the styling cannot be recognised due to the variant names not being colours. I am still quite new to Shopify so I may be missing something so if anyone could offer some advice it would be greatly appreciated, otherwise I will probably rebuild the swatches although I feel this is a waste of time as the Impact theme will probably be updated to the newer system in the near future.
