Native parcel locker and pickup point selection in Shopify Checkout for Poland (InPost, DPD, DHL)

Hi there,

I would like to submit a feature request for native parcel locker and
pickup point selection in Shopify Checkout for Poland.

This is not a niche local requirement. In Poland, parcel lockers and
pickup points are one of the main delivery methods in e-commerce, and
for many customers they are as standard as choosing a payment method.

Shopify already supports native pickup point selection in checkout for
stores in France, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

That makes Poland a particularly important gap, especially because the
scale of parcel locker infrastructure in Poland is larger than in
several currently supported markets.

Based on publicly available data, the scale of supported pickup point
infrastructure in these countries is approximately:

France:

  • Mondial Relay: over 11,000 lockers and over 7,000 relay points
  • La Poste / Pickup / Colissimo: over 6,000 lockers and around
17,000 parcel shops, with Colissimo communicating over 26,000
    contact points in France

United Kingdom:

  • Evri: over 2,000 lockers and over 11,000 ParcelShops and lockers
    in total

Italy:

  • Poste Italiane / Punto Poste: around 20,000 pickup points
  • Locker Italia / Poste Italiane + DHL eCommerce: over 2,000 locker
activations, with a long-term target of 10,000 lockers

Spain:

  • Correos: around 2,200 Citypaq smart lockers
  • around 8,000 service points

Poland is currently not supported natively, even though Poland has one
of the largest parcel locker and out-of-home delivery infrastructures
in Europe.

According to the Gemius “E-commerce in Poland 2025” report:

  • 83% of online shoppers choose parcel locker delivery
  • 39% choose home or work courier delivery
  • 23% choose delivery to a partner pickup point

These were multiple-choice survey responses, so the percentages are
not meant to total 100%. The key point is that parcel lockers are chosen
more often than traditional courier delivery.

Publicly available data shows a very large Polish delivery network
across carriers such as InPost, DPD Pickup, DHL eCommerce, ORLEN
Paczka, Pocztex / Poczta Polska, and others.

The scale of the Polish market is approximately:

InPost:

  • over 29,000 InPost Paczkomaty 24/7 parcel lockers
  • around 3,000 pickup points

DPD Pickup:

  • over 12,000 DPD Pickup lockers
  • over 21,000 DPD Pickup points

ORLEN Paczka:

  • over 8,000 ORLEN Paczka lockers
  • over 7,000 pickup points

DHL eCommerce:

  • over 9,000 DHL BOX 24/7 lockers
  • over 14,000 DHL POP pickup points

Pocztex / Poczta Polska:

  • around 2,500 Pocztex lockers
  • over 17,000 pickup points

Allegro One also has over 11,000 One Box parcel lockers and over
3,000 pickup points. It is currently mainly available within the
Allegro ecosystem, not as a standard carrier option for independent
Shopify merchants, but it is still important market evidence.

FedEx, UPS, and GLS also operate pickup point options in Poland, often
through partner networks or shared retail infrastructure.

Overall, Poland has around 70,000 parcel lockers and tens of thousands
of pickup points. The exact number of pickup points is difficult to
deduplicate, because many retail locations are shared by multiple
carriers and logistics networks.

It is also worth noting that Shopify already supports Mondial Relay
pickup points in France, and Mondial Relay has been owned by InPost
since 2021. In other words, Shopify already supports an InPost-owned
out-of-home delivery network in checkout, but not InPost Paczkomaty
24/7 in Poland, which is one of the most mature parcel locker markets
in Europe.

Shopify has already made major progress in Poland by adding BLIK and
Przelewy24 to Shopify Payments. This is extremely valuable for Polish
merchants and customers.

However, delivery localization is still one of the biggest missing
pieces.

Today, many Polish Shopify merchants rely on workarounds where customers
select a parcel locker or pickup point in the cart, through a third-party
app, during checkout in limited ways, or after the order has already
been paid.

There are multiple Shopify apps that try to emulate parcel locker,
pickup point, or collection point selection in different parts of the
purchase flow. This clearly shows merchant demand for native support
in Poland.

These workarounds help, but they are not equivalent to native checkout
support.

This creates real problems:

  • worse checkout experience
  • higher risk of mismatch between the selected location and shipping
    method
  • pickup point data stored in unstructured ways such as notes, cart
attributes, order attributes, or custom fields
  • weaker compatibility with Shop Pay and accelerated checkout
  • more complexity for fulfillment apps and carrier integrations
  • more friction compared with local Polish e-commerce platforms

Please consider adding native pickup point and parcel locker support
for Poland in Shopify Checkout, available not only on Shopify Plus.

Ideally, this should support carriers and networks such as:

  • InPost Paczkomaty 24/7
  • DPD Pickup
  • DHL BOX 24/7 and DHL POP
  • ORLEN Paczka lockers and pickup points
  • Pocztex lockers and pickup points
  • other partner pickup point networks where possible

The ideal experience would allow customers to choose a parcel locker
or pickup point directly in the shipping step of checkout, using a map
or searchable list.

The selected location should be saved as structured order data, not only
as a note, cart attribute, order attribute, or custom field. It should
also work properly with Shop Pay, order management, fulfillment apps,
and shipping integrations.

If Shopify does not want to build direct integrations with every Polish
carrier, then a very valuable alternative would be a native pickup point
framework or API that apps and carriers can use on regular Shopify plans,
not only on Shopify Plus.

This would make Shopify much more attractive in the Polish market. For
many Polish merchants, native parcel locker and pickup point support is
not a minor convenience feature — it is a core localization requirement,
just like support for BLIK and Przelewy24.

Thank you for considering this request.
