Is there any third party app or any way with code to add a section on our homepage where customers can give us suggestions and or ideas for designs they’d like to see?
We don’t want a forum or a blog page just a simple text box they can use to submit to us.

If so, do you think a separate contact form would work? You can change the title and description to say it is meant for gathering feedback. Depending on your theme, you can link the page or a form directly as section to your homepage. Let me know, and I can share more detailed tutorial on how to achieve it.
Otherwise, you could look into apps like POWR or Powerful Contact Form Builder.
