Need Advice on Using Shopify Markets for a Multi-Company, Multi-Market Setup

I’m looking for guidance on setting up a multi-market Shopify store that sells in three different regions: the EU, US, and CH. The shop owner currently has three separate companies, one in each market.

I’m considering using Shopify Markets, as it seems to be a good solution for managing sales across multiple markets with a single store. However, I have some questions about how this setup would work, particularly regarding accounting, payouts, and reporting:

  1. Payouts: Can Shopify handle payouts to three different bank accounts, one for each market, based on where the sales are made?

  2. Accounting: How would the accounting process work in this scenario? Is it possible to keep the financials separate for each company?

  3. Reporting & Analytics: Does Shopify provide separate reporting and analytics for each market, or would everything be combined into a single report?

I would appreciate any insights or advice from those who have experience with this type of setup. Thank you!

No to all of the above.

Whilst Shopify Markets is a nice idea in principle, in reality it is pretty basic and causes more issues than it solves. Plus nothing supports it, not even Shopify’s own native features itself so it is an absolute headache managing anything separately between different markets, whether customer-facing or backend administration.
