Need Feedback on Intimates Soft Launch

  1. Store URL: southernfancy.com

  2. Screenshots

  3. What we are trying to achieve and what outcome we expect: We haven’t gotten product photography, but any feedback on usability, design or technical issues would be appreciated.

Hi @ghuske

First, watch out when you share screenshots. You probably have two monitors, and it captured both.

Your store is solid, good idea for the product and the story behind it. But I saw a few issues, for me at least, with a theme.

Homepage:

  • The header is too big, too much space it takes for no reason, it shifts other content down
  • Timer is good mut that text is hard to read because of background
  • A really big slider, at least on wider screens. And not much purpose, no call to action button
  • Image and text sections are good
  • Footer, that blue text is not a good choice. Not a big contrast, so harder to read
  • You do have a good logo, for sure, and nice you have active social network accounts. Build on that and bring customers.

Collection page:

  • not many things done here but think to add sme decription, a good for SEO
  • You do not need filters for now, at least

Product page, solid info. Not sure you need instalments but OK.
But product images need to be better. And you need some more sections. Like icon/text with some customer reassurance in mind. For example: Made in the U.S.A (US flag icon), Premium cotton (cotton icon), Free delivery, and good support.
Also, add some testimonials and a review app. If you have already sold some, you can write some short reviews if any.

For product images, try to make better images. You can do it on your own, check maybe

Good luck with sales

The site loads fine but yeah you’re gonna need real product photos before you can get useful feedback on conversion stuff. Right now it’s hard to tell if the layout actually works because placeholders don’t show how your images will look at different sizes or how the colors will pop. Are you planning a soft launch with these placeholders or waiting till photos are done?

Hi @ghuske

Few things:

  • Not sure you are going to have a formal launch in 5 days. I could be wrong, but might want to extend it, or not list it.
  • I am lost in the “about us” page.
  • In your privacy policy - might want to change the email alias to something like Privacy (at) your domain. And when you create a contact us page you can have Contact (at) your domain… They can all forward to the email alias of choice.

Happy to provide more as you get further along.

Regards.

Thank you. That is great feedback. We are waiting on product photography, but our friends and family have been pestering us to buy, so we are going to do a soft/quiet launch next week which should also help us identify issues.

Thank you. Yes, we are working on professional product photography. We are doing soft launch next week for friends and family and to sort out issues. I appreciate the feedback.

Smart move, friends and family is the perfect testing ground before going wider.

the store structure and branding actually look solid for a soft launch, you’ve clearly thought about the positioning. but yeah, the lack of real product photography is the elephant in the room. for intimates especially, people need to see the fabric texture, the fit, how it looks worn. placeholder images just won’t convert in this category.

if full photoshoots aren’t in the budget yet, there are AI tools now that can bridge the gap. we use one called Prodofoto in our store, it takes a basic product image and generates lifestyle and on-model shots. the on-model mode would be especially relevant for intimates since seeing the product on a body is basically non-negotiable for conversion. worth trying the free tier before you invest in a full shoot.

For an intimates soft launch, professional product photography can make a big difference because customers need to understand fit, fabric, support, and color accurately. I’d prioritize clean product images, detail closeups, and consistent on-model shots before spending too much on extra creative assets.

Hey @ghuske .
Hope you are having a wonderful day.
No product photos yet, as you mentioned, and that is really the main thing holding the store back right now since photos usually make or break first impressions for clothing. One small thing worth trying. The email signup popup shows right when the page loads, before people even see the products, might work better delayed a few seconds or triggered on exit instead.

The Made in the USA and cotton quality story is a nice trust point already on the homepage. Once real photos are added, the store should come together well. The layout and messaging are already in good shape.
