Need help from a shopify expert on adding code so that my dropdown menu will say “out of stock” next to my out of stock items. I know people have asked this question before, but I’m not comfortable editing the code myself. Can someone please add the code for me or give me a step by step instruction that I can follow to add it myself (I am using the Dawn theme)?
I have watched youtube videos and followed all the steps they show to make the out of stock items not show up, but that did not work and they still show. I would rather have it say “out of stock” next to the item in the dropdown menu anyways.
Here is a picture showing what I’m looking for (picture is from ebay, not shopify and just showing as a reference to what i’m looking for)
A good example would be to search “flashback 1 pink”. Out of the 100 cards in the drop-down menu, I only have 5 left, but you have to look at each card individually to see which those are or to see if they are out of stock. If I could get it to say “out of stock” in the drop-down menu next to each card that is out of stock then you would know right away which 5 are available. I hope that makes sense.
Hello @EvoMasher , If you haven’t found an exact solution yet, I can suggest an alternative to handle out-of-stock products - you may want to consider using an app to automatically push down or hide out-of-stock products until they come back in stock. One option is the Mercbees Push Down & Hide Out of Stock app. It can automatically move out-of-stock products to the bottom of collections or hide them entirely, without needing to add any code. They offer a free plan that includes those core features. If this interests you, you can check them out here. Just a friendly suggestion in case it’s helpful! Let me know if you have any other questions.
