Need help with code to have images resize on mobile device automatically

Hi there @Wildflowerivy !

Thanks for taking the time to share your query with us here in the Community.

Could you let me know the name of that theme you’re using so we can check on how you can get support for this theme?

It looks like you’re referring to the slideshow image portion of a theme, is that correct?

I’d recommend you check out this blog article of ours to get a deeper understanding of how image cropping works with how images like this are coded.

There’s more info here on the best practices you can employ when uploading images for use in this specific instance to ensure the best outcome across multiple screen sizes.

Have a look through these and think about how you can put the best image forward for your store.

Can you tell me a bit more about your business, are you starting or expanding a fashion brand?

Regards,

Don

Hi Don!

Thanks for replying, the theme I am using is Debut.

It happens with anything gallery or slideshow related. I currently have a Gallery image up there, because I changed it from the slideshow to see if that would help.

I’ve looked at a few examples of coding, but once adding it into my theme nothing changes.

Thanks!

Hi again @Wildflowerivy !

Thanks for getting back to me here!

The way that images like slideshows and galleries are coded means that you will need to use an image that looks good from a variety of image sizes and shapes.

It is not usually possible to change this behaviour without extensive coding customisation.

Our best advice in this situation is always to look for images that you can use that will give a working appearance for you across as many device configurations as possible.

Check out the guides I linked in my reply above, as these will explain these concepts and how you can work with them in greater depth.

Do let me know if you have any other questions or we can help out with any other aspect of your business!

Regards,

Don
