Need help with ftp and copy images to orderfile

Hi!

I´m looking for someone who knows about FTPs and how to import or duplicate the images that an order demands. And place them in the newly created orderfile, important is that the xml file is places latest as the xml file triggers the printing process.

History and what we need.

  1. The files are stored on our print provider’s local FTP in a specifik folder.. The order would come in via our webbshop, ’converted’ to a tailored XML-file through your app and be uploaded to an ’orderfolder’ on the same FTP. Our print provider’s system then hooked the corresponding print file - which has the same name as the product’s SKU - from the original folder which then triggered an automatic printing of the file on their printers. But now that will not work anymore due to some changes in their system. Rather the print file has to, somehow, be placed in the ’order folder’ on the local FTP along with the XML-file at the time of an order.

We are using Exporteo on our site if that helps id any way.

  1. The printable files are as of now still stored on the local FTP of our print provider, and Exporteo have access through there. All the keys are inserted on our account already. Hence we were hoping that it might be possible to trigger a ’copy file’ command via your app so that the print file can be imported along with the XML-file when an order has been made.

@CStark I know that you are already aware of the solution as we’ve been in contact by email. I’m posting it here to leave a trail for other merchants looking for a similar solution.

I implemented an option in Exporteo to upload additional image files along with the main XML file:

Exporteo can now copy files associated with ordered items (for example, using a metafield as on the screenshot), and upload them to the FTP server.

Thank you for all your help!
If anyone has a simullar issue that I had, this is the way to go :slightly_smiling_face:

Amazing support whenever I had questions as well.
