We are selling bulk variants of our items. Instead of this being handled with a variant on the one product, the bulk variant is an entirely different product.
A problem arises now because I am currently trying to automate how our stock system (Cin7) integrates with our Shopify store.
Before I came on board there wasn’t an issue because Cin7 wasn’t integrated with Shopify, meaning if Customer A buys 4 units of Product 1 (singular), and Customer B buys 1 unit Product 1 as bulk pack of 6, we could track stock easily because the orders were entered manually (in this case it would amount to 10 total units of product 1).
My question is, how would I set it up so the bulk variant accurately reflects the changes of stock levels, example: diminishing product 1 stock levels by 6 units instead of just 1 unit.
You could bundle up the bulk variants with the individual SKU. Our app processes the bundle and converts the order line into the correct SKU so inventory is maintained. You just need to time the schedule for orders going into Cin7 after the order is converted but we have multiple scheduling options for this process.
