Hi everyone,
I’m currently building my website 12-Bit Soul on Shopify and could really use some help from the community.
The site is focused on digital music products like sound kits and production tools, and overall Shopify has been a solid platform for getting things up and running. However, I’m running into payment integration issues that I haven’t been able to fully resolve yet. Some payment methods are not showing correctly, and at times the checkout flow doesn’t work as expected for digital products.
I’ve gone through Shopify’s documentation and tried a few recommended fixes, but I’m still having trouble making everything work smoothly especially for customers outside the U.S. Since payments are such a big part of the experience, I want to make sure this is set up the right way from the start.
If anyone here has dealt with Shopify payment gateways, digital product checkout, or third-party payment apps, I’d really appreciate any advice, examples, or resources you’re willing to share. Even a link to a helpful guide or a similar case study would mean a lot.
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to help. You can see the site here for context: https://www.12bitsoul.com/

Hi there @soulbit12 You should consider getting in touch with Shopify customer support if you haven’t already. I suggest sharing details such as location and the gateways you’ve already tried so far- that will make it easy for them then make suggestions on what else you could try or what you could tune to make them work better.
Hi @soulbit12
These are typically payment and market configuration and not checkout bugs. Check Shopify Payments availability by country, activate global markets, and use local currencies, as well as digital product settings. Test with a non-US address, disable conflicting apps, and make sure that your products are not marked as requiring shipping, as that hides methods unexpectedly.
For digital products, payment issues usually come down to setup or regional limits:
- Check Shopify Payments: Not all payment methods show for every country or currency. Add a backup like PayPal, Stripe for non-US buyers.
- Digital product setup: Use Shopify Digital Downloads (or similar) and make sure products are non-shippable.
- Taxes & compliance: EU VAT/GST settings can block checkout if misconfigured.
- Theme/app conflicts: Test checkout on a default theme and temporarily disable upsell or checkout apps.
What I’ll advise is to run test checkouts (including from a non-US IP) to see which payment methods disappear and why.
You should support local and regional payment methods. Stripe accounts can support many payment methods. If you want to get this benefit, get a “Shopify Stripe Checkout & Subscriptions” solution.
