Need Two Different Text Colors in Craft Theme

Hello! I’m new to Shopify and setting up my website now. I can’t seem to find how to do this anywhere:

I have two places on my home page that have a darker background color (the announcement bar above the header and on a button farther down the page). Both of these areas are a dark blue and I need white text there. When ever I try to change the color, the text on both my header and footer also change to white. I am using Craft theme.
