I bought a domain through Shopify a day ago and never received an email to verify my email address and register my new domain. I keep clicking “resend email” in the yellow banner but still receive nothing. When I type in my new domain that I bought in my browser though it works and brings me to my site.
If you know how to verify your email to register your domain and make the yellow banner go away please help. Thank you!
Typically the yellow banner would disappear if the domain was successfully verified. It might be worth checking to make sure that your email address was entered without a typo. Some places to check would be:
Settings>General - There are two email fields in this section.
Settings>Account - Click on your name/profile and double check for the correct address here. This is specifically the email used to log-in and to authenticate your account.
Online Store>Domains> DNS Settings - Here is the final place to check and make sure your email address is correct.
Should everything look correct, I suggest contacting our Help Center and opening a ticket with a Support Advisor who will be able to directly look into your account securely for you.
Thanks for the help, I contacted someone from the help center but we still couldn’t figure it out. Maybe they are still working on it. The emails were correct I just wasn’t receiving them for some reason.
You should have received an email with a ticket number after your interaction. If you reply to this email, you can reach out for an update from the Advisor that initially helped you out.
Does the domain still say it’s propagating? Have you tried using a different email address to see if the email will send there instead? Also, is it possible it went to spam right before your spam folder cleared itself? Some inboxes are set to automatically clear the spam folder every 30 days or so.

Thanks for reaching out for a hand. Typically when we see issues such as buttons not working, it has to do with the web browser and not a platform related error.
I recommend attempting to repeat the steps using a different browser entirely to see if that resolved the issue for you. Other things you can try including incognito mode, making sure your current browser is up-to-date and opting to use a mobile browser if you’re on the computer, or vice versa.
Hello! I am having the same issue. I have purchased a domain, yet I have not received an email to verify. I checked the email listed on my store, and it is correct. I have received other emails from Shopify. I have checked my junk mail, and I have checked my email security quarantine. I have not received any email for verification for the new domain I purchased. I have requested a new email to be sent at least five times. Please help. Thank you.
