The non-destructive approach makes a lot of sense, especially if disclosure requirements or presentation standards change over time.
One thing I’d be interested in is the governance step before the overlay itself.
For larger catalogs, who determines that a particular image requires disclosure, and how is that decision reviewed when classification is done in bulk?
It seems there are really two separate problems here:
How the disclosure is presented without modifying the original asset.
How the classification decision, approval, and evidence behind that disclosure are controlled over time.
The CSV export helps with the second part retrospectively, but I’d be interested to know whether merchants also need a review or approval step before bulk classifications become active.

1. Presentation (Without modifying the original asset) To expand on your first point, our UI overlay component doesn’t just protect the original asset - it actually gives merchants the flexibility to be more transparent.
Detailed Tooltips: Merchants can add specific details about exactly what was modified or generated. Shoppers see this information in a tooltip when they hover over the label, which goes a long way in building customer trust. Automatic Localization: A huge compliance benefit of the UI approach is the ability to automatically translate the label and tooltip into the shopper’s local language. If you sell cross-border, you likely know this is actually a legal requirement in some jurisdictions (like France).
2. Governance & Audit Trails Regarding your second point about the governance step before classifications go live: currently, the classification decision is managed directly by the merchant or their store admins (we don’t have a multi-tier staging/approval workflow built-in just yet, though that is a great idea for larger enterprise catalogs!).
Instead, our current solution focuses heavily on providing an airtight, 3rd-party audit trail to protect merchants after the fact.
Imagine this scenario: A government regulator audits your shop and claims that a specific photo (which contains AI metadata, like from Gemini) was missing its disclosure label on August 3rd.
If you only have your own internal records, the regulator might question their validity.
With our tool, you have a verified, 3rd-party log proving exactly when that label was applied. You can simply pull the CSV export showing it was officially signed and labeled on August 2nd.
Ultimately, we want to make this as seamless as possible. You don’t have to worry about permanently altering files, managing duplicate backups for original photos, or stressing over control - we keep the logs so you are protected.

Worklist Summary: Right above Worklist, merchants get a bird’s-eye view of their progress. It shows a live count of exactly how many images are Unclassified, AI generated or modified, and Not AI.
One-Click Filtration: We built quick-filter buttons right below the search bar (Unclassified, Generated, Modified, Not AI). If you want to blast through your backlog, you just click “Unclassified” and your list is instantly narrowed down to only the images that need your attention.
Bulk & Single One-Click Editing: If a merchant makes a mistake or needs to update a classification, fixing it is extremely fast. You simply filter your list, and then you can select a single image, multiple images, or check the box to select all of them at once. From there, it takes just one click to change their status (e.g., to “Partially AI modified”), updating everything in bulk instantly.
