Hi Shopify Friends - since we updated to the one page checkout we’ve had a number of customers reach out and tell us the shipping address on their order is wrong and we have to hurry to update it before the order goes out. Is anyone else having issues with this? The last customer said the website used an old address she had put in for a previous order weeks before so I wonder if it’s a cookies issue… Thanks for any help!!! We want to be sure of course that orders ship to the address entered by our customers.
Topic summary
Main issue: After switching to the one-page checkout, some orders are created with incorrect shipping addresses. One customer reported the site reused an old address from a prior order, raising concern about how addresses are being populated.
Likely cause suggested: Browser auto-complete/auto-fill inserting a previously saved address, not a platform-side checkout bug. The initial suspicion about cookies was not supported by further evidence in the thread.
Current status: The store owner acknowledged this explanation may be correct. No concrete technical change or Shopify-side fix was provided, and no diagnostics (logs, screenshots) were shared.
Outcome and next steps: Tentative resolution pending user confirmation. If auto-fill is indeed the cause, marking the answer as the accepted solution was requested. Discussion remains effectively open until confirmed.
Hey @HYCH
It’s look like the customer browser used the auto complete feature and entered the saved address. otherwise it’s not possible.
