My husband and I own two businesses, a clothing boutique and art gallery in the same brick and mortar location. I was just chatting with an advisor to ask if there’s a simple way to toggle between stores within the POS App. It’s seamless in Admin, but currently for POS, I have to log out of one store, then log into the other. That introduces two factor authentication and can be time consuming if I’m not right there (my number is the two factor auth) so when a staff person is trying to give our customer a smooth experience, it quickly gets cumbersome. I need to keep inventory, marketing and websites separate which is why we have two Shopify stores. Anyway, making toggling/switching in POS as simple as

Here’s another reason the current situation is terrible:
Let’s say Cashier A has access to Store A.
Cashier B has access to Store B.
Cashier A walks away and the app locks, requiring a pin to open back up.
Cashier B needs to serve a customer for Store B, but can’t even switch the store without locating Cashier A, getting them to type in their pin, THEN going through the tedious process of logging them completely out and logging back in as Cashier B on Store B.
Maybe I’m missing something, but it seems like on the pin screen, there should be a sign out button so someone else can sign into a different store.
One additional awesome variation would be for physical locations that offer products from two shopify stores. If there was a way to have a POS able to pull products from both shopify stores, and let the customer checkout once (maybe their card still gets charged separately to keep reporting/taxes straight, but make the checkout a single experience.) I see posts about this topic going back years without any response from shopify.
We have a similar issue. I have a furniture business and my wife has a clothing shop. Both under the same legal name and same building but we have two Shopify stores since the products are different. We do load all the inventory into one Shopify store and sync with the other but the POS part and branding are tricky. I wish we could have multiple websites under one Shopify store but have different branding based on the store.
