New Product Duplication Issues in Shopify Admin

Some recent changes have been made in Shopify Product screens that cause more work … plus … a bug.

Issue: Now when duplicating a product, the interim window that pops up where we enter the new Title, etc.
have the checkboxes for images, skus, barcodes, quantities and translations already checked for you.
Might not be all of them all the time (I think it depends on the product being duplicated), but previously these
were not pre-checked for you. Now we have to take extra time to uncheck most of these when we are duplicating a product to save time when adding new products.

Bug: If the product you are duplicating has ‘complementary products’ attached to it, they also are being copied to the new product.

Again…changes being made to everyday tasks that shop owners do that are causing shop owners more time and creating bad data.

Changes keep being made to Shopify software with no communication of what they are and when they go ‘live’.

I have contacted Shopify Support and they are ‘looking into it’. Who knows what will come of it.
