The new reports system is a f*cking aberration and is completely useless now.
There was nothing at all wrong with the old system, but Shopify just have to change sh*t to look like they’re doing something, and it’s always a change for the worse.
Anyone know if it can be rolled back?

The new system is superior in almost every way. More capabilities, cleaner look, more data. I’d suggest trying to learn more about it, as it can only help your business.
You sound like you had a hand in developing it. It certainly does not have more capabilities. It’s limited in many ways compared to the old system, which worked perfectly well.

Nope I just run a store like everyone else. Sounds like your mind is made up before you gave it a chance.

It literally is incapable of running the one report I ever used it for now. Checked with, and confirmed, by Shopify Support.
Which report? Maybe someone here can help.
I need to run a sales report by billing location which filters results to EU countries only and gives me a total sales amount for them.
The system allows you to add each country singularly as a filter, but will not show any results for more than one country at a time. SO acquiring a total is impossible.
The old system took seconds, as all you had to do was tick the checkbox of each country you wanted to add to the report.
Clean, intuitive and straightforward.
This new system is clunky as hell, and ridiculously time consuming - and in my case, and that of many others - plain doesn’t work.

You can get this by starting with almost any of the default reports. I started with the Total Sales by Referrer. Just replace the referrer dimensions with the billing country. See the screenshot attached.
This will result in a row by each country with the sales for that country. Then you can just save it and you can access it with one click anytime in the future.
I’m aware of how to run a billing location report, thanks.
I need to filter THAT report to EU countries only. It can’t be done because you can only filter that report one country at a time. You can’t filter more than one country at a time to get a total for EU countries only.

Actually you can. Use the “one of” operator and you can choose as many countries as you want. See the screenshot.
Eureka! Thanks. You better tell Shopify, they don’t know that.
It’s not exactly obvious that button has a series of options as it defaults to “is” with no hint of it being one of many choices? This has been rolled out half-cocked by programmers who think everyone thinks like a programmer. They really don’t.

I’m in the same boat. I need this report and cannot find it out. Shopify too busy making reporting look like an app for kids.
You’re bang on. It’s so convoluted it’s ridiculous. Paypal report takes 2 minutes, transferwise takes 2 minutes, shopify takes all day and a hell of a lot of messing around. Obviously people need reports such as this. Beggars belief that it is this complicated.
Patronising. Yeah lets all spend days learning this gobbledegook for it to be changed in 6 months.

Shopify reporting is like changing gear in your car with the window wipers and steering with the cigarette lighter.
