Just hit what appears to be a new Email limit. 2,500 per WEEK!!!
Went to schedule my weekly marketing email to my 2450 subscribers and get an error that I had already sent out 2500 emails this week. Actually that part is true, I sent a Halloween Marketing email on Monday. same group.
and yes, it put me over the 10,000 monthly limit, for which I gladly paid the extra fee.
But today is the 1st, the monthly counter should have, and I believe did, reset. So where did this WEEKLY LIMIT come from?
Support doesn’t know. There is no documentation about such a limit, except one little page that says nothing especially about how to solve the issue.
Anyone else run into this? How did you solve it?
What non-shopify solutions are you using to get around this stupid limit?
I’ve just spent 2.5 hours on the phone with Shopify “support” team, with the first person hanging up on me. I’ve been given 101 reasons and excuses as to why this has happened. Apparently there was some update in August that is rolling out to more and more merchants. From what I can gather, there’s some glitch as we should still be able to send emails no matter to how many or how frequent, and just have to pay extra as normal. I’m now waiting another 4 hours until some other technical support team can look into my issue, so it’s by no means resolved yet but fingers crossed. I will have to delay my newsletter mailout to tomorrow costing me time and money, let alone nerves. Completely ridiculous and frustrating.
Totally get it. I had started a marketing campaign on Monday, announced followup for Wednesday, then hit this glitch. and yes, hours on chat result in nothing more then “we’re actively working on it” only to be told a paragraph later that the “team has gone home for the day”… In addition to time, money and nerves, the issue is also causing credibility problems for my store and marketing efforts.
