New shop and no sales

Hi,

We opened a new shop on shopify one week ago, but we did not receive even a single sale. We have over 1.5K of items we open for sale with fast shipping all around the world. Is this normal practice with shopify? We only see that you have a bunch of apps and for every single thing you need to subscribe to and pay monthly. Any help appreciated

Okay

Kindly Provide Me your store link

Hi there @MNDGate , this is Alexis from Akohub.

Thanks for sharing your experience, and let me assure you, based on my experience, this isn’t uncommon for new Shopify stores, and there are steps you can take to start driving traffic and converting visitors into customers.

A key focus right now should be marketing your store effectively to the right audience. If you haven’t already, consider running targeted ad campaigns on platforms like Facebook and Instagram, which can help you reach potential customers based on their interests and behaviors. You can also try setting up Google Shopping ads to promote your product catalog to people searching for similar items.

To maximize the impact of these campaigns, I recommend using our app, Ako Retargeting. It’s a powerful tool that can help you reconnect with visitors who leave your store without making a purchase. For example, if someone browses your products but doesn’t check out, Ako can serve them reminders through ads or emails, enticing them back with a discount or showcasing the items they were interested in. It’s a great way to recover potential sales while building your brand visibility.

Additionally, make sure your store is optimized for conversions. Ask yourself: Is your product photography clear and appealing? Do your descriptions highlight the benefits of each item? Are your shipping policies transparent and enticing? A well-optimized product page can make a big difference in convincing visitors to buy. It’s also worth considering email marketing to engage with your audience. Tools like Shopify Email or Klaviyo allow you to send welcome emails, special offers, and post-purchase follow-ups to keep customers engaged and coming back for more.

If you’d like, feel free to share more details about your store and what you’ve tried so far. I’d be happy to give you more tailored advice. Starting strong can take a little time, but with the right strategies, I’m confident you’ll see those first sales rolling in soon. You’ve got this!
