New split shipments feature and Printful. Can it work?

Has anyone been able to get the new split shipments feature from the Summer 2024 edition to work correctly at checkout for items that you keep in stock yourself + items fulfilled by Printful? I all non apparel products that I sell here at my home location and then I have Printful fulfill apparel and other items. Previously I have had to use Advanced Shipping Rules app to even get combined shipping rates. I was hoping this new update would allow me to get rid of the app and also allow me to be even more transparent at checkout so folks could see what was coming in each shipment. When I tried deactivating advanced shipping rules app to test this it didn’t work as hoped. It still just shows a regular shipping option but doesn’t show it as multiple shipments at checkout. It combined the shipping costs but did not show as split shipments. Has anyone had any luck with this or know if it can even work with third party integrations like Printful?

Where the heck can you find the option?

Hey @prettybad ,

To give you more insight on this feature (Split Shipment), it is not currently available to merchants unless you reach out to Shopify Support and ask them to enable it. It is currently in the experimental phase. Once it is released, Shopify believes it will be a “toggle on” feature, so if you don’t need a split shipment, you won’t be double-charging your customers.

There is no release date yet (as of today); however, as I mentioned, you can reach out to Shopify Support Chat and have it enabled.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Thank you,
