What we are trying to achieve and what outcome we expect: Feedback on new site appreciated I had no idea Gmail addresses were looked down upon - I’m working to rectify that
Hey @TheSilverNutmeg over all your website looks great and i must say you did a great work but i have notice one point
please check the background color of all these heading because it is not visible properly for any one
that’s it this is my honest review hope you like and also don’t forget to like and mark as solution
Hi,@TheSilverNutmeg
Just went through your site (homepage, collection, and product pages) you’ve got a really strong visual identity. It feels cohesive and premium, especially the product imagery and overall tone.
A few thoughts from both a design + dev perspective:
Homepage: Visually it’s great, but it leans more editorial than transactional. I’d bring a clearer “Shop” action slightly higher so users don’t have to think about where to go next.
Collection page: Layout is clean and yes, the hover is working but the grid still feels a bit tight on desktop. A little more breathing room between cards would make it feel more premium and easier to scan.
Product page: Strong imagery, which is a big win. I’d just break up the description a bit (spacing or short sections) and consider adding a small trust layer (reviews, shipping note, etc.) near the CTA to support the buying decision.
Email (Gmail): It’s not a dealbreaker, but switching to a domain email will elevate trust a bit, especially for first-time visitors.
Overall, this doesn’t feel like a beginner store at all you’re already at a good level. It’s mostly refinement now rather than major changes.
A couple of things.
- By marking a response as the “solution”, it will deter a lot of others from providing feedback. If it is truly the solution than I apologize.
- Regarding your site - I am not familiar with IOD. It wasn’t until I reached your video at the bottom that I understood what you are offering.
- I also did a search on IOD - You might want to consider adding content to your site that references DIY tools like decor transfers, stamps, and moulds to create vintage-style home decor. This will also help with SEO.
- I appreciate you adding your contact information to your store. It is surprising how many people trying to create a business and are afraid to have people contact them. - And then they wonder why they can’t make a sale.
- Other than reading your “about” page - I would not know you are located in CT (East Coast Time Zone) Consider in your “contact” and “shipping” page adding the time zone so people don’t call you in the middle of the night or early morning.
Regards - Shawn
Great points - thank you!
The store already has a strong visual identity and brand that feels cohesive. At this stage, small improvements in clarity, trust signals, and navigation can often have a bigger impact than a full redesign. Making the value proposition clearer earlier and reducing friction in features and pricing could help visitors move from browsing to ease. For brands refining their creative assets, visuals, and adding a slow-motion video that intuitively describes the products. Using tools like Pikes AI and Midjourney can also help maintain a polished, consistent visual experience across the storefront.
