New store needs feedback

Hey folks,

I need feedback on my store. I’ve gone over it myself but im not an expert, and id like some constructive feedback before we get real traffic. Thanks!

@Gocozyy

Thanks for reaching out to the community.
Here are some points:

  1. The notification bar on top needs some background color, so the text should be clearer.
  2. Make the Header height smaller and arrange the menu in the middle instead of beside the logo. Also, the header needs a background color as per your brand.
  3. Home page sections are very basic. This needs to be designed properly.
  4. Footer need background color also as per your brand color.
  5. On the Shop page. Product title and price should be more brighter so it will be more visible for customers.
  6. As an individual product page. You need correct fonts and sizes to make your product title and price more visible. Also, I found that image sections took more space, and the product description column is very small. So it needs to be corrected.

I noticed that you are using the Horizon theme and you have a lot of design work to do to make the site more catchy.

Hope the above feedback will be helpful.

Hi @Gocozyy

Homepage Feedback:

  • Hero CTA is not strong enough make it more prominent & benefit-driven
  • USP is not clearly explained (why this blanket is unique)
  • Text sections are too small and not easily scannable
  • Benefits should be highlighted with icons or bold points
  • Some sections feel **too spaced out → reduces engagement
  • CTA buttons (like “Shop now”) need better visibility
  • Add a FAQ section on the homepage for better SEO and user clarity

Products Section:

  • Missing reviews / ratings
  • Missing badges (Best Seller, Popular)
  • No Add to Cart / Quick add button

Trust & Conversion:

  • No customer reviews/testimonials
  • No clear shipping info
  • No return policy highlights

UX Issues:

  • Typography hierarchy needs improvement
  • Some sections feel text-heavy
  • Mobile optimization should be checked

Footer:

  • Can add trust badges & guarantees
  • Add strong CTA or offer (discount, email capture)

hey @Gocozyy you did a great job but you can do make more attractive store
i think it is your first time to design or develop a store so feel free if you have any question about it

Hi, @Gocozyy
I took a look at your site, and you’re actually in a pretty good place already-the product idea is strong. At this stage, it’s mostly about improving clarity, bringing in the right traffic, and smoothing out the user experience.

Here are a few areas that should make the biggest difference:

  1. Improve homepage flow (turn visitors into buyers faster)

Add structured sections:

  • Why GoCozyy (3-4 benefit blocks)
  • How it works (simple visual steps)
  • Shop by scenario” (Travel / Home / Outings)

This helps visitors quickly understand what the product is and where they’d use it.

2.Improve product page conversion structure

Your product is visually strong, but needs clearer decision triggers.

Above the fold (top section), add:

  • Clear use-case icons (travel / play / calm / learning)
  • One strong lifestyle image (child using it in real scenario)
  1. Build SEO traffic pages (for consistent organic traffic)

To bring real traffic beyond ads/social, you need supporting content.

Create simple blog/pages like:

  • Best travel activities for toddlers
  • How to keep kids busy on flights
  • Screen-free play ideas for kids

Then internally link them directly to your product page. This helps you rank for parenting + travel intent keywords, not just your brand name.

  1. Improve mobile speed & Core Web Vitals (based on PageSpeed Insights)
  • Compress and convert all images to WebP

  • Reduce or defer third-party apps/scripts

  • Remove unused Shopify apps that add script weight

  1. Trust + conversion boosters (quick wins)
  • Clearly highlight ‘safe for kids’ and material details
  • Show real usage images (not just product shots)

Once these changes are in place, you should start seeing better engagement, smoother navigation on mobile, and improved conversion rates as users understand the product much faster.

For the speed part, if you don’t want to manually go through all the scripts and images, tools like Website Speedy can also help handle a lot of that optimization automatically though it is optional to use.

the product is actually really cool, illustrated map blankets for kids is a strong concept. but the homepage isn’t selling the experience at all. you need a hero shot of a kid actually using the blanket, spread out on the floor playing with it or bundled up in a car seat with it. right now it reads more like a product catalog than a brand.

also the USP needs to hit harder in the first 3 seconds. “screen-free play” is your biggest angle for parents right now, so lead with that. put it in the hero, make it impossible to miss. and tighten up the spacing between sections, there’s a lot of dead space that makes people scroll without finding a reason to stop.
